BEYOND THE CLASSROOM WINDOW

ACTION ACTIVITY:             Physical Aerodynamics: Flight Simulators

Research indicates that the bond that exists

between the student and the teacher is directly proportional to the students’ willingness to absorb information presented.  Understanding this concept, the learning strategy called “Beyond The Classroom Window” utilizes action activities designed to promote, enhance or reinforce this bond.  Proper preparation and application of this strategy creates an atmosphere of “family.”  Discipline problems are replaced with a desire for learning adventure.

Equipment required for this activity:  Flight simulator software, computer, control peripherals.

Special Note:              Provide your students with “hands-on” adventure as they soar through the clouds in a flight simulator.  Experience has shown us that working with a simulator prepares our students for actual flight at the airport.  It also provides them with immediate and direct knowledge pertaining to component operations (ailerons, flaps, etc.).  Should you decide not to participate in the airport adventure, this activity still provides valuable experience and can be an adventure in itself.
